From script to scenes
Linking a block to a scene
Section titled “Linking a block to a scene”Any script block can be linked to one scene of the project, with a kind that says what the block is for that scene:
| Kind | Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| General | Sc3 |
A visual description or anything else about the scene. Clicking the badge opens the scene’s image tab. |
| Voiceover | Sc3 · Voice |
The words the narrator reads. Opens the narration tab. |
| Animate | Sc3 · Motion |
Motion or camera direction. Opens the motion tab. |
A block can instead link to Music, which makes it the brief for the project’s background music.
Set or change a link from the block’s badge or the selection menu. A link is saved immediately, not on the autosave debounce.
Pushing text into a scene
Section titled “Pushing text into a scene”Linking records where a block belongs. To move its words into the scene, use the selection menu on the script:
- Push to voiceover — writes the block’s (or just the selection’s) plain text into the scene’s caption, links the block as Voiceover, and opens the Voice tab with that scene selected. The caption is both the narration and the on-screen subtitle — see Captions and voice.
- Push to description — writes the text into the scene’s description.
- Create scene from block — adds a scene at the end of the storyboard seeded with the block’s prose, and links the block to it.
Selecting a passage lets you push one sentence out of a three-sentence paragraph — often only one of them is the narration. Or use Extract to block first so the line gets its own block.
Generating the image, animating, and generating the voiceover audio remain separate actions, each with its own credit cost.
Seeing coverage
Section titled “Seeing coverage”- The coverage strip in the status bar shows which scenes the script covers, by live scene number.
- Each scene card shows a 📝 count of the script blocks linked to it.
- Inside a scene’s prompt area, link tags list every linked block as a kind-tinted chip; click one to jump to that block. A teal Music chip appears when the script briefs the music.
Scenes are numbered by their current position, so reordering scenes updates every badge. A block linked to a scene that was later deleted keeps a dangling link and is flagged so you can repoint it.
Letting Manan do it
Section titled “Letting Manan do it”Create scenes from my script makes Manan read the script, link blocks that clearly match existing scenes, create scenes for the rest (name, description, image prompt and narration distilled from the draft), and link those too — all free. Write a script about … writes the script document and nothing else. See Meet Manan.
