Usage and limits
Cost per turn
Section titled “Cost per turn”Manan charges 1 credit per 50,000 model tokens (input and output together), rounded up per turn. This is separate from the credits that generation tools spend. A turn is never interrupted for credits mid-way: the charge is capped at your balance, so the last turn may be under-charged rather than taking you negative.
Starting a turn needs a non-zero balance. With none, Manan tells you so and stops.
The rolling usage window
Section titled “The rolling usage window”On top of credits, Manan has a burst limit: the model tokens you can use in a trailing 5-hour window. The allowance depends on your plan — paid plans get a larger window than the free tier. The window frees up gradually as the oldest hour ages out.
When you hit it, the chat shows a card — Manan has hit its usage limit — with a live countdown, a View usage link, and a Retry button that enables itself when the window has room again. Nothing is lost; your message is still in the conversation.
Rate limits
Section titled “Rate limits”- 10 turns per minute per account.
- One running turn per conversation; wait for it to finish (or answer its card) before sending the next.
Usage page
Section titled “Usage page”Settings → Usage shows credits, storage, and Manan side by side: a Manan card with credits charged this month, the reset day, and how much of the burst window is in use; and a daily activity chart of credits and turns.

Context compaction
Section titled “Context compaction”A conversation’s context grows with every turn. Once a turn ends above roughly 200,000 tokens, the next turn compacts the history into a summary, keeping the newest 12 messages verbatim; older tool results are trimmed. The context ring in the panel warns at 80% and turns critical at 95%. Starting a New chat resets it — Memory and project instructions carry over regardless.
