Manan's tools

Manan works through tools. Approval-gated tools are marked credits; everything else is free.

Reading the project

Tool	What it does
get_account	Credit balance, per-action costs and the account’s capabilities.
get_project	The whole storyboard: every scene in order, plus project settings.
get_scene	One scene in detail.
view_image	Looks at a picture’s actual pixels — a scene’s still or any stored image. Used only when the question is visual, because it costs far more context than reading text.

Script and documents

Tool	What it does
list_documents	Every document with its kind, version and block count.
get_document	One document in full, a window at a time for long ones.
create_document	A new reference document — only when you asked for one to keep.
edit_document	The one way to change a document: a whole-body rewrite or a patch of block operations. Refuses to overwrite a version you edited meanwhile. In Default mode this files a suggestion.
set_document_image	Add or replace a picture in a document’s image bank.
list_document_revisions	Version history, newest first, each marked user or agent.
restore_document_revision	Writes a past version back as a new version — never destructive, itself reversible. Only when you asked.
save_memory	Appends one line to the Memory document.

Scenes

Tool	What it does
add_scenes	Creates scenes — a whole script in one call.
update_scenes	The one tool that changes existing scenes, batched and applied in order: name, description, position, duration, caption, captions on/off, voice and style, delete, duplicate, and fit-duration-to-voiceover/clip.
set_scene_image	Puts an image you attached (or one a tool produced) onto a scene, or restores a version from the scene’s history.

Generating — credits

Tool	What it does
generate_image	New pictures, batched. Each lands on a scene, in a document’s image bank, or loose in the chat. Can be conditioned on reference images.
refine_image	Edits an existing picture in place; the previous version stays in history.
animate_scene	Turns a scene’s still into a clip. Clamps the scene’s duration to 4–12 s.
generate_voiceover	Narration for a scene, with a voice, a style preset and inline delivery tags.
generate_music	The project’s background music.
upscale_render	Upscales a finished render. Only on accounts with that capability.
list_voices	The voice catalogue. Free.

Rendering and jobs

Tool	What it does
render_project	Makes the video from the project as it stands. Free. One render per project at a time.
get_render / list_renders	A finished video, or the project’s render history.
get_job_status	Progress of an older job. Manan never polls jobs it just started — the cards do that.
cancel_job	Aborts queued or running work.
update_project	Project-level settings.

Talking to you

Tool	What it does
ask_user	A question card that pauses the turn until you answer.
