Members
Members are managed at Organization → Members by the owner and admins.
Adding a member
Section titled “Adding a member”Add Member takes the email of an existing Screel account. The person is added immediately — there is no invitation to accept.
Adding is refused when:
- the email is not an existing Screel account (the error is deliberately generic and does not say which case applies);
- the person already belongs to an organization;
- no seat of the chosen type is free — buy seats first, or raise the viewer-seat limit.
Choose a paid seat or a free viewer seat when adding — see Billing and seats. Admins can add members but not other admins; only the owner can add an admin or change a role.
Joining through single sign-on
Section titled “Joining through single sign-on”With SSO configured and auto-provisioning on, people signing in with Google on a claimed company domain are handled automatically:
- New accounts are added silently as members on a free viewer seat.
- Existing accounts get a join request instead: a banner on their projects page offers to join, with the migration consequences spelled out. Accepting runs the same migration as a direct add; declining leaves the account untouched.
Pending join requests appear on the Members page, where the owner or an admin can revoke them.
Re-adding within a billing cycle
Section titled “Re-adding within a billing cycle”If someone is removed and added again in the same billing cycle, their credit usage for the cycle carries over.
Editing a member
Section titled “Editing a member”From a member’s row: change their seat type, or (owner only) their role.
Leaving
Section titled “Leaving”Any member or admin can leave from Settings → Organization → Leave organization. Their account stays active and drops to the free tier; their personal plan and credits are not restored.
Removing a member
Section titled “Removing a member”The owner or an admin can remove a member from the Members page.
Whether someone leaves or is removed:
- their organization projects are reassigned to the organization owner — never back to them;
- shares that pointed at them are removed;
- their sessions end immediately: open editors, live documents and any running Manan turn are disconnected;
- they receive a You were removed from … email (removal only).
Emails
Section titled “Emails”Members receive an email when they are invited through a join request, when they join, and when they are removed. Role changes, seat changes and billing events send no email.
